Six Mile Creek Systems was founded on these principles: 1. Everyone has a story to tell. 2. Telling our stories is a fundamental part of being human. 3. Dynamic media - film, video, animation, movies - collectively represent the most powerful and pervasive narrative form of our day. 4. The barrier to producing a narrative movie is lower than ever before. Equipment is cheap and easy to use, and distribution is accessible (via the Web and DVDs). 5. Movie production is itself inherently complex, time-consuming, and unpredictable, and is therefore difficult to manage. 6. Not only is managing a movie production challenging for those who already know how to do it, it presents a substantial learning curve to those who don't. 7. Production management can be both effectively taught and substantially simplified by well-designed software. Concluding that software that addresses these principles doesn't currently exist, Six Mile Creek Systems exists to make that software - software that will simplify movie production and remove the biggest remaining obstacle to: * regular people * telling their own stories * through making movies.
